We believe that without private enterprise, society cannot be free. We want to support young people in Tanzania and Slovakia in their efforts to start businesses, employ others, and thus develop their communities with advantageous loans. Every support we send remains in Tanzania, and our task is to establish a functioning repeatable system of loans.
Emanuel Bayyo, 30 rokov
Emanuel is a former student of Sokoine University focused on agriculture. He gained experience in poultry farming in high school and wants to continue in it as an independent entrepreneur. His goal at the beginning is to raise 300 poultry. The poultry farm where poultry would be fed both nuclear and commercial feed is a novelty in the area. This means higher poultry weight gains and tastier meat.
Joseph Nuwagi, 31 rokov
Joseph gained experience in agriculture by helping his parents. He earned a bachelors degree from the University of Dar es Salaam and wants to focus his project on pig farming in Dongobesh area. The project anticipates a growing demand for pork and lard in the area. The main customers will be local meat processors.
Paskali Amma, 25 rokov
Paskali graduated from high school in Dongobesh. His intention is to grow vegetables on the school grounds, with the help of two other students. He plans to supply his produce to schools, surrounding families, and local stores. Vegetable cultivation is not widespread in the area, and there is a high demand for quality vegetables. The biggest risk is drought and climate change. In the future, a watering system needs to be created, which would allow for two harvests a year.
Project guarantors
In Dongobesh, we found a group of people, mainly managers and teachers. Boniface, Martin, and Mollel are the guarantors of the ESTEN Opportunity project on the Tanzanian side and will ensure transparent and fair criteria for selecting loan applicants.
Headmaster of Dondobesh High School and an excellent manager
I want to see young people with abilities, independent thinking, and independent life who are self-employed and hire others instead of relying on government employment. I want to open opportunities for young scientists to apply their profession and see the opportunities that exist in society.
Principal of LEA Primary School in Dongobesh and a long-time collaborator
I feel good when I can help someone else and have a positive or successful life after someone helped me. And when I see the various opportunities that exist in society after my success. It is my pleasure to see this project aimed at helping my community succeed and give birth to another with the same goal and bring happiness, inspiration (harmony) to the families of individual people, my community, and my nation.
Education officer responsible for Mbulu district and a project writer expert
My motivation is to see how the lives of young people, especially those who have finished school, change. To see how the value of their education brings changes to them, their families, the community around them, and the nation as a whole.
Team ESTEN
We have been dedicating ourselves to supporting the education of poor children in Tanzania for almost 10 years in the area around the town of Dongobesh through the support of the Children of Africa project. Now, we have decided to establish a non-profit organization, ESTEN Opportunity, as a company initiative.
Project Manager
I have experience with the standard of living in Tanzania and I want to help improve it. I also want to help improve the perception of other cultures in Slovakia and the gratitude for what we have.
Deputy Director for Projects
I believe that if each of us performs even a few good, selfless deeds within our possibilities, this world will be many times better. I also consider the spread of the idea of volunteering to be a great challenge.
Deputy Director for Technology
I am very happy to support any opportunity to give a chance to someone who has it harder in life than we do and to contribute at least a small part to improving the lives of others.
Senior Developer
People live in different conditions in the world. Sometimes when I see the difficult life situations that others are experiencing, I realize how fortunate I am. Then I think about how to help others who have not had as much luck in life as me. I believe that all the good we do will come back to us, and that if we help each other, we can make this world a better place.
